"Rise and Shine and Welcome to School Today!"

We are off to a great start!  On the first day of school we made new friends and brainstormed how we wanted our class to run.  We came up with five classroom rules to make our class a happy, fun, and safe place to be.

On our second day of school we talked about Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year!  The rabbi spoke with our class and blew the shofar.  We are making wishes for the New Year with an art project, using our fine motor skills.  We can't wait for you to take it home at the end of the week.  We even began our first ongoing project called "Squiggle Writing". First, we read a book about lines.  Then, each child took a pre-made line, and created a masterpiece.  I am so impressed by everyone's work and I can't wait to see how their "squiggles" transform throughout the school year.

Books we are reading this week.
