As we prepare for conferences at the end of the month, there are some things that are expected for kindergarten under the cognitive domain. At this point in the school year, your child should be able to identify letters Aa to Ww. If you notice that your child is having difficulty, it is very important that you work with them on a daily basis at home, recognizing these letters (and not in order of the alphabet). Focus should be placed on both capital and lowercase letters. When writing, enforce that letters start at the top. ** This is a big deal in kindergarten. Also, your child should have some knowledge of letter sounds.
Number identification 1 to 13.
On Monday, a notice will be sent home regarding parent conferences. Please write any concerns or questions you may have, as our quick, 15-minute conference will be based on your questions.
No School Thursday, May 12 (all teachers will be attending a conference)
No School Friday, May 27 (parent conference day!)
